The Phoneboxes

Finished works, little mystical creations, representing a merging of cultures and mixing mediums. Sticker Tiles!
I created these works in response. Integrating my sticker practice, the eyes, and the beauty of the tiles in Istanbul.

I thought, why not bring the tiles to Brunswick. (Melbourne). I took some designs, edited them on photoshop and printed them into stickers.

Pixels perhaps. Turkish mosaics, used as pixels, we designesd these character, some sort of mayan, islamic, street art fusion.

It couldnt be helped. Pixel space invader mosaics!

The working floor.

In this project im influenced by Alex Greys art, and sharing the idea of interconnected nature and infinity.

I like Spinoza philosophy, another inspiration.

I anything is infinite, then everything by definition must also be.
Sydney road is beautiful but drab.

It has a strong Turkish community as exmplified at the Turkish centre, here's a battler swapping Ciggies for Booze.

But still so plain.

I dont like the aesthetics of Sydney road.

Eyes on the streets of Istanbul city remind me of my own stickers and passion.

Eyes above, stickers below.

Tiles of inspiration

So many shops decorated with beautiful tiles.

Sacred Geometry, a reminder of the interconnectedness of things. The divine rules that preside over all nature.

The tiles, patterns, domes and paintings in the mosques took me to a space out of time.

Architecture as angels.

I visited the mosques and streets, inspired by the infinite geometry and color.

In Istanbul, the mosques and streets are decorated by luscious tiles, rich in meaning and ancestry.
